  • Wolf Announces 13 Counties will Move to Yellow Phase of Reopening on May 15: Today Friday May 8 Governor Tom Wolf announced 13 Pennsylvania counties will move to the yellow phase of reopening at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, May 15. Those counties include Allegheny, Armstrong, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Fulton, Greene, Indiana, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland.   • Department of Health Releases Revised Dental Health Care Guidance for Treating Patients During COVID-19 Pandemic: The Pennsylvania Department of Health today Friday May 8 released the revised dental health care guidance as part of Governor Tom Wolf’s strategic, phased COVID-19 reopening plan. Governor Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine have revised their business closure orders issued on March 19 to remove the prohibition on non-urgent and non-emergent, dental procedures. Those orders were issued yesterday, May 7.  Read more: https://dingo.telicon.com/PA/library/2020/2020050845.HTM
  • Wolf Administration Provides Guidance for Buildings Closed During COVID-19: As businesses in counties enter the Yellow Phase of the state’s reopening plan, the Pennsylvania departments of Environmental Protection (DEP) and Health (DOH) are encouraging owners and operators of dormant buildings to flush building water systems prior to reopening.   • Can malls, outdoor entertainment reopen in Pennsylvania’s yellow-phase counties?: The Gov.   • Secretary of Health Dr. Levine
    • As of 12 am today, Friday May 8, there are 1,323 new positive cases; 54,238 positive cases now statewide in all 67 counties.
    • 3,553 are healthcare workers tested positive and 10,191 are associated with 522 nursing homes and/or long-term living facilities.
    • 2,122 are in the food industry at 127 facilities statewide.
    • 3,616 deaths are adults who tested positive.

 

Regional Coronavirus Updates

  • Reopening Pittsburgh Region
    • The Pittsburgh region — with the exception of Beaver County — will be released Friday May 15 from some of the COVID-19 restrictions in place since late March. Wolf announced Friday afternoon that 13 counties, including Allegheny County, will move to the yellow phase of reopening next Friday. The counties are: Allegheny, Armstrong, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Fulton, Greene, Indiana, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland. Beaver County, which has one of the highest case rates in the state due in part to a large outbreak at a nursing home, is not included in the order.
