The Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce is unique among other Chambers in our region because of its strong connection and working relationship with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business & Industry and the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE). In fact, our Chamber hosted to the 2008 ACCE national convention.
The Chamber regularly conducts outreach initiatives (anchors down to outreach) that bring together regional and state public and private sector partners around public policy issues that affect our business climate competitiveness.
The Federal Advocacy Initiative
The Federal Advocacy Initiative is partnership between the 10 counties of southwestern Pennsylvania, represented by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC) and our Chamber to identify and prioritize regional infrastructure projects that are vital to growing the regional economy. The partnership seeks project funding through the federal appropriations process, stimulus funding and transportation reauthorization bills. The partnership has been extremely successful at bringing federal dollars back to the region.
