The 10-County Pittsburgh Region


   

The Pittsburgh region consists of the City of Pittsburgh and 10 unique counties, each offering its own unique strengths and character as business locations and community centers. Allegheny County
The City of Pittsburgh; two of the nation’s top-ranked research universities (Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh); world-class Pittsburgh International Airport.


Armstrong County
A hub for advanced technology-based industries like electro-optics, nanotechnology and precision carbide manufacturing.


Beaver County
Easy access to Northeastern Ohio and Pittsburgh International Airport; home to three colleges and universities, four state and county parks and nearly a dozen golf courses.


Butler County
Diverse economy with strengths in technology, manufacturing and health care; home to Cranberry Township, one of the fastest-developing communities in the nation.


City of Pittsburgh
A thriving urban core, “America’s Most Livable City” is brimming with business and offers an unparalleled quality of life (link to quality of life section); complete with unique neighborhoods, centers of innovation, arts & culture and recreational opportunities to fit any imagination.


Fayette County
Strategic location bordering Maryland and West Virginia, situated in the D.C./Baltimore corridor; home to Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece, Fallingwater, and the state’s premier resort destination, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.


Greene County
A long tradition of manufacturing and energy production, especially coal, and the skilled workforce to support it; Interstate 79 connects Pittsburgh to the southern United States.


Indiana County
A diverse economy with prominent Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which was recently designated as one of the top “Values in Higher Education,” at the center of the community.


Lawrence County

Washington County
