Local Telephone Companies
Energy, Utilities And Telecom

Changes in federal telecommunications law have opened the local telephone service market, allowing customers to choose their local service provider (LSP) in Pennsylvania. LSPs offer customers the basics – dial tone, 911 emergency access, directory assistance, etc. Each LSP may offer optional services and calling plans in addition to basic service.

  • A list of the LSPs offering local phone service in SWPA is available by calling the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) at 1-888-PUC-FACT
