As of January 2000, all electricity customers in Pennsylvania are able to choose their electric generation supplier.
Specific information on tariffs and rates schedules are no longer as significant as they once were, as generators are more interested in giving their customer the best possible deal. As a result, an individual business must shop around:
Allegheny Power

- Duquesne Light Company serves an 817 square mile area covering most of Allegheny County and Beaver County. All of the city of Pittsburgh is within Duquesne Light's territory

First Energy
