Public School Enrollment
The Pittsburgh School District is the largest in Allegheny County, with 65 public schools serving approximately 28,000 pupils throughout Pittsburgh and Mt. Oliver. Employing approximately 5,800 people, its facilities include 10 high schools (Grades 9-12), 41 schools covering grades K through 8, and six special use schools. Assignments to elementary, middle and high schools are based on the address of the child's legal residence.
