Public School Enrollment

The Pittsburgh School District is the largest in Allegheny County, with 86 public schools serving approximately 31,000 pupils throughout Pittsburgh and Mt. Oliver. Employing approximately 5,200 people, its facilities include 10 high schools (Grades 9-12), 17 middle schools (Grades 6-8), 53 elementary schools (Grades K-5) and six special use schools. Assignments to elementary, middle and high schools are based on the address of the child's legal residence.
