March 29, 2010 - Journalists from Canada, China, France, Germany and Spain recently traveled to the Pittsburgh region to see firsthand how research, innovation and entrepreneurship come together in the region to propel the creative industries – video games, robotics, digital media technology and more – to new cutting-edge heights. Organized by the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance (PRA), in cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University, the PA Department of Community and Economic Development and Team PA Foundation, the tour provided the journalists with insights from the region's top creative minds. Showcased were Carnegie Mellon University's Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) and several creative studios that have spun out of the ETC, including SilverTree Media, Electric Owl Studios, Schell Games and Evil Genius Designs. Some of the journalists have already featured their Pittsburgh experience in their publications including Canada's Le Lien MULTIMEDIA (PDF) and China's Xinhua News Agency.
