Today’s global economy demands a strong competitive workforce. The Conference and its Affiliates work to help address our region’s workforce challenges through partnerships and programs that:

• prepare our youth for successful careers here
• connect regional employers to the personnel they need to thrive here

Initiatives currently under way are:

• The Pittsburgh Regional Compact – bringing employers and educators together to create a learning environment designed to give students the skills needed for the jobs in our region.

• Proficiency by 10 – tracking early proficiency in reading and math to ensure that our education system is preparing students for successful futures.
