The Allegheny Conference on Community Development and its Affiliates work together with regional partners to improve the quality of life in the Pittsburgh region and enhance its competitiveness in the global marketplace.
Discover what we are doing, what we have accomplished, what is left to be done and how you can get involved.
Through the market research and analysis of the Pennsylvania Economy League of Southwestern Pennsylvania, and the advocacy efforts of the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce, we focus our public policy work on four priorities to improve the regional business climate:
- Taxes & Regulations – Reducing the business tax burden on employers, improving the business climate, promoting cost-effective energy and electricity, and improving regional air quality and its management attracts capital investment in the region.
- Transportation & Infrastructure – Maintaining excellent regional air service and improving access to and from strategic business hubs – like Downtown, Oakland and the airport corridor – encourages business growth.
- Local Government Function & Structure – Increasing cooperation among local government bodies and reducing fragmentation increases the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our public sector, making our region more attractive to businesses.
- Workforce Quality – Producing and attracting a diverse, skilled workforce is essential to reaching our full potential and filling the jobs of tomorrow.

Get personally involved in any or all of the above initiatives to benefit the Pittsburgh region. We'll tell you how.
