Our Region's Business is a Sunday-morning business affairs program co-produced by the Allegheny Conference on Community Development and WPXI-TV that aims to play a positive role in the Pittsburgh region by providing business news, information and commentary in a lively and entertaining format. The program is hosted by veteran broadcast journalist Bill Flanagan, who is executive vice president, corporate relations at the Allegheny Conference and its affiliated organizations.
Since May 2002, the Pittsburgh region's leading economic development organization and the unit of Cox Television have collaborated to raise awareness of important issues facing employers in the region, highlight entrepreneurs and other business leaders, and provide useful information to help employers grow. Additionally, the program focuses on issues that are getting in the way of business investment and job growth, with the goal of influencing policy decisions to improve the economic climate and quality of life in the region.
Our Region's Business airs on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. on WPXI-TV and is rebroadcast on PCNC-TV at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. that day, and 3:30 p.m. on the subsequent Monday.

Service to Opportunity: Matching Veterans to Open Jobs in the Pittsburgh Region
ServicetoOpportunity.org, a new web-based initiative launched by the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, aims to connect returning veterans in our region to in-demand jobs in energy and manufacturing. The website allows job-seekers to search for open positions within the 10-county region and provides a toolkit to match their military skills to these open jobs. Jack Ouellette, chairman of American Textile Company, sits on the Service to Opportunity Advisory Committee. He discusses the initiative and why employers throughout the region should consider hiring veterans for open positions. View below.
